What does HeroMed's AI Scribe do?
HeroMed's AI Scribe listens to the consultation with the patient's consent and drafts a structured clinical note into the patient record: history, findings, assessment and plan, with ICD-10 coding support so the invoice can be built from the same note. The practitioner reviews, corrects and signs it — the note is never final until a clinician signs. The Scribe is included in the Core AI plan and draws from the plan's AI credit allowance.

What it does, step by step
- Capture — with the patient's consent, the consultation is captured in the appointment, inside the patient record.
- Draft — a structured note is written: history, findings, assessment and plan, in the format your discipline uses.
- Code — ICD-10 coding support and your tariffs, so the invoice follows from the note.
- Review and sign — the practitioner edits anything that needs changing and signs. Clinical responsibility stays with the clinician.
- Flow through — the signed note feeds the invoice, and in South Africa the real-time medical scheme claim.
What it does not do
It does not diagnose, and it does not finalise a note on its own. It drafts; a clinician decides.
Cost
The AI Scribe is included in the HeroMed Core AI plan and draws from that plan's monthly AI credit allowance, so there is no separate scribe subscription to add. Top-up credits are available if a busy month runs the allowance down.
Consent and privacy
Patient consent is recorded, and data handling is aligned with POPIA in South Africa and equivalent privacy rules in the other markets HeroMed serves.
