A practice built around women
Tarryn Graham qualified as a physiotherapist at Stellenbosch University (Class of 2002) and has spent more than two decades working across musculoskeletal, sports, and pelvic health care. After early years in hospitals and private outpatient settings, she found her true calling in women's health — completing postgraduate studies in both NMS and Women's Health.
In 2012 she launched her own practice — Tarryn Graham Physiotherapists — serving both in-hospital and outpatient clients, with around 80% of her caseload focused on women's pelvic health.
Today her home-based outpatient clinic in Salt Rock, KwaZulu-Natal offers a deeply specialised, discreet and empowering environment for women navigating complex pelvic and sexual health concerns. As a solo practitioner, she runs every part of the practice herself — clinical care, admin, billing — while also showing up as a mom.

The challenge — a solo practice carrying too much admin
Running a specialised solo practice came with very real, very daily pain points:
- No clinical integration. Her previous billing system handled invoices but nothing else. Notes lived on paper — slow, insecure, and constantly at risk of being lost.
- Desktop-only, after hours. The system wasn't cloud-based or mobile-friendly, so admin could only happen at night, chained to a desk. Family time paid the price.
- Duplicate work everywhere. Billing, assessments and patient notes lived in separate places — meaning the same information was re-entered, two or three times, by the one person who could least afford to lose the hours.
For a one-person business in a sensitive clinical niche, that was unsustainable.
Why HeroMed
Tarryn needed a platform that was built around how physiotherapists actually work — not a generic billing tool with a notes module bolted on. HeroMed delivered on three fronts:
- All-in-one. Notes, assessments and billing live in one platform. No fragmentation, no re-entry.
- Mobile-first and cloud-based. Whether she's on her iPad at a coffee shop or finishing a chart in the car at school pickup, she can run her practice from anywhere.
- Fair, flexible pricing. HeroMed comfortably handles both EDI medical-aid claims and private rates — a perfect fit for her hybrid billing reality.
The shift — admin that fits around real life
Since moving to HeroMed, the transformation has been quietly remarkable:
- Almost fully paperless. Notes are securely stored and instantly retrievable.
- Admin on the go. Work that used to eat her evenings is now handled between sessions, on her iPad, wherever she happens to be.
- More patients, less paperwork. Profitability has lifted — not because she's working harder, but because she's finally working less on the wrong things.
- Room to scale. If she ever brings on associates, roles and access are already built into the platform.
Support that shows up
Tarryn describes the HeroMed support team as "outstanding, responsive, and clear." Questions are answered quickly, help is always available, and the system inspires the kind of quiet confidence a solo practitioner needs from her software.
HeroMed has helped me become an almost paperless practice. It's allowed me to coordinate treatments and billing with ease, even while juggling family life. My profitability has increased simply because I have more time for patients — not paperwork.
For a deeply specialised practice serving women through some of the most personal chapters of their health journeys, the right software isn't a luxury — it's what makes the rest of the care possible.
